England 5

England is a country in Europe and it’s known for its football. With the FA Cup coming up soon, we thought we would take a look at what time of day England wins the most games! Keep an eye out on not just their performance against other teams but also where they perform best throughout the course of each game

England 5 Germany 1 is the score of England’s win over Germany in their opening game at the World Cup.

Harry Kane scores an acrobatic third against AlbaniaIn 2021, Harry Kane has scored 12 goals for England.

After beating Albania at Wembley, England simply needs a point from their last qualifier in San Marino to guarantee their spot in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

England thrashed Albania 5-0, with Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick in the first half. Albania was considered to be a tough opponent following a strong qualification campaign.

By half-time, England had a five-goal lead and were out of sight, thanks to Harry Maguire’s ninth-minute header from Reece James’ free-kick, and Kane’s second at the far post from Jordan Henderson’s cross.

After a smooth interchange with Kane, Henderson scored the third goal, then England’s captain added two more goals before the interval with an angle shot and a fantastic scissors kick from Phil Foden’s corner.

Kane now has 44 England goals, equaling Jimmy Greaves, and has 39 competitive goals for his nation, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s record of 37.

Southgate’s strategy pays well.

The choice by Gareth Southgate to deploy two holding midfielders in Henderson and Kalvin Phillips aroused some eyebrows, but the style was the same one that performed successfully when they overcame Germany in Euro 2020 and in the losing final against Italy.

Southgate was anxious to put England on the front foot, using James and Ben Chilwell as aggressive wing-backs, with Henderson in particular showing a desire to attack.

England dominated Albania with wave after wave of assaults after a feisty start and a scare when goalie Jordan Pickford stopped wonderfully from Myrto Uzuni after Kyle Walker sent the ball into his path at 1-0.

Once that worry subsided, it was one-way traffic, with England in command and the Albanians being ran ragged at the rear.

Kane was back to his magnificent best, scoring three goals and almost doubling his total, while Raheem Sterling looked sharp as England scored all of their goals in the opening 45 minutes.

Maguire’s goal was greeted with a fingers-in-the-ears celebration, which may have been meant at Manchester United detractors – but it would take more than a goal against Albania to erase the memory of those humiliating Old Trafford losses against Liverpool and Manchester City.

Because of England’s dominance, Southgate was able to give Arsenal’s young Emile Smith Rowe his international debut as the game came to a low-key climax.

England had a pleasant night against inferior competition, but Albania has done well in this group, so Southgate and his players deserve credit for their positive attitude and ruthless commitment to getting the job done, as well as the way they have navigated the qualifying process.

It’s a group that’s always looked promising, and all England has to do now is finish the preliminaries against San Marino on Monday before starting real preparations for next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

They said, “We’ve had an edge all week.”

“The first-half performance in the main was magnificent,” England manager Gareth Southgate said on Radio 5 live.

“I thought we achieved everything we spoke about after the previous game: we pushed extremely well, which made life difficult for the opponents, we moved beautifully, and Harry [Kane] put in a tremendous centre-forward performance.”

“Any team is at its best when it has an advantage, and I thought we had that advantage all week.” We intended to react to a particularly dismal performance for us. We were extremely specific about why we were doing it. All of the guys on the group, in my opinion, reacted admirably to it.

“We’re in a great position right now, and we owe it to our fans to go to San Marino and complete the job.”
